The other family farm, the Bougerolle ranch on the Snake Trail north of Cowley, in 1990.
This began with Jacques Bougerolle, who emigrated to Alberta and worked coal trains in the Crowsnest Pass for a few years before buying a bit of land and building a log cabin on the far side of the ridge (to the right in the photo). My grandfather moved the house across the ridge and my father expanded the land area when he took over around 1977. I think grandpa lived almost his entire life there, in the same (expanded and refurbished) log house, that was almost a hundred years old when my dad died there in 2007.
